Small School. Big Education.
An intentionally comprehensive 850-hour massage therapy program in Adrian, Michigan.
What an honor it is to support people like YOU as you step into a journey like this.
Adrian School of Massage is a small, independently operated massage therapy school in Adrian, Michigan, serving students from Southeast Michigan, Northwest Ohio, and communities throughout our greater region.
We're small on purpose.
We value knowing our students, creating space for questions and growth, and building the kind of learning community where people are seen as individuals — not simply another student moving through a program.
But being a small school doesn't mean offering a small education.
We intentionally offer more.
ASM's state-licensed, NCBTMB-assigned 850-hour Certificate of Massage Therapy program goes beyond the minimum education required for massage therapy licensure in Michigan.
We've chosen to use that additional time intentionally.
Students build a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology and the science behind massage therapy while developing thoughtful, confident hands-on skills.
Their education also includes extensive supervised student clinic experience, community outreach, business and professional development, ethics, research and professional literacy, communication with other professionals, exposure to a variety of massage and bodywork approaches, and intentional preparation for the MBLEx.
Because becoming an excellent massage therapist involves more than learning a sequence of techniques.
It means learning to think, communicate, adapt, recognize your scope, continue learning, and care well for the people who trust you with their bodies.
An education you can build on.
There are shorter paths into the massage therapy profession, and those programs may absolutely be the right fit for some students.
We've simply chosen to offer more.
Our goal isn't only to prepare students to graduate, become licensed, or pass the MBLEx. We want to give them a broad and thoughtful foundation they can continue building upon throughout their careers.
And we don't expect every graduate to build the same career.
Our students bring different personalities, interests, strengths and dreams into this profession. Some build their own massage practices. Some join established healthcare or wellness teams. Some continue into specialized areas of massage and bodywork. Some become educators, entrepreneurs and leaders within their communities.
Part of our job is helping students develop the knowledge and skills to begin discovering what their place in this profession might look like.
Small enough to know you.
One of our favorite things about being a small massage school is that education can remain personal.
Our instructors know our students. We get to recognize their strengths, celebrate their growth, notice when they need additional support, and encourage them as they develop their own approach to this work.
Students also learn from multiple instructors and professionals who bring different specialties, perspectives and real-world experience into the classroom.
And that relationship doesn't have to end at graduation.
We want ASM to remain a resource throughout your career.
We're so proud of what our students go on to do!
Our students and alumni are the greatest reflection of what we hope to accomplish.
ASM graduates have achieved MBLEx pass rates significantly higher than both Michigan and national averages, and we're very proud of that.
But we're more proud of everything that happens afterward.
Our alumni are caring for clients, building businesses, creating opportunities, continuing their education, serving their communities, collaborating with other professionals, and bringing their own unique gifts into the massage therapy profession.
We are SO proud of them.
And we would be honored to have you consider becoming part of this very special community.
